Association Meetings

Our association holds meetings on the second Monday of each month from 6:00pm to 8:00pm in person and online. Meetings are open to anyone. We spend the first 30 minutes taking care of any association business, like hearing updates from the Board of Directors and Chairs, and taking membership votes on board decisions. Each meeting then has a speaker or special topic of interest to beekeepers. Meetings are meant to be educational and an opportunity for mentorship and discussion with fellow beekeepers.

• February 12 – Sue Cobey, Honey Bee Insemination Services, queen rearing for backyarders
• March 11 – Bri Price, Honey Bee Program Extension Coordinator, WSU Department of Entomology
• April 8 – Dewey Caron, PhD, Professor Emeritus, and Author, speaking about dealing with non-survivors and the living
• May 13 – Jordan Bramwell, presenting on splits
• June 10 – Discussion and Q&A with an expert panel of beekeepers, including Jeff Ott, Paul Longwell, Debra Langley- Bower, and Doug Stolhand
• July 8 – Summer potluck at the Freedom Farmers
• August 12 – No meeting
• September 9 – All about the apiary! This meeting will be held at the club apiary at the Freedom Farmers off Yelm Hwy (Google map).
• October 14 – Penny Longwell, Master Gardener, presenting on pollinator gardens
• November 11 – Jeff Ott, speaking about preparing for winter
• December 9 – Winter potluck and white elephant gift exchange
